We are blessed to have both a beautiful site and an amazing staff to welcome and serve our guests at Lutheranch. Visit the Meet Our Staff page to learn more about the people who lead programs, prepare meals, organize volunteers, and maintain the grounds and facilities at Lutheranch.
We couldn’t have an equestrian program without horses! Visit the Meet Our Horses page to meet the friendly, and sometimes silly, program horses who make Lutheranch their home.
At Lutheranch, our mission is to provide you with life changing experiences and a place apart to encounter the things that really matter in life. From equestrian programs, summer camps and year-round retreats, to all-inclusive rental facilities for guests to host their own gatherings, meetings, and events, we wake up every day ready to connect people with community, creation, and God. Lutheranch is part of NovusWay Ministries, a non-profit Christian organization affiliated with the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America.
In 1998, a new master plan for NovusWay Ministries (formerly Lutheridge+Lutherock Ministries) was in development. With the fast-growing population in the southeastern US, the need for a third site to serve those in the deep south was recognized.
Several years were spent searching for the perfect space.
In 2007, the 519-acre Red Paw Ranch property in Tallapoosa, GA was purchased and renamed Lutheranch. The acquisition of the property enabled guests to start using the site immediately. The former landowner’s residence was opened as a small retreat center in the fall of 2007. The residence was named Holy Trinity House and hosted its first retreat in November of that same year.
In August 2017, the McKanna-Sandrock Retreat Center was dedicated and opened with 41 guestrooms, 3 conference rooms, a full-service kitchen and large outdoor patio. We also expanded our onsite activities to include a lakefront outdoor worship chapel, archery course, athletic field, group challenge course and marked hiking trails.
In 2020, the Lutheranch Equestrian Program launched with renovations to the existing barn facility and large covered arena. The program offers guided trail rides, therapeutic and recreational riding lessons, and horse boarding.
